BP as a Founding Partner of International Student Energy Summit (ISES) is taking part to raise awareness of energy and energy sustainability among talented students from all over the globe in this year’s Summit in Bali, Indonesia. Our BP Indonesia Head of Country, Dharmawan Samsu will talk about BP’s role in supporting the rising energy demand in Asia Pacific in a Plenary Session on Emerging Asia. While, our Senior External Relations Officer, Hidayat Alhamid will showcase Tangguh’s sustainable community development program as best practice example in the Parallel Session on Global Problems Meet Local Solutions.

About BP in Indonesia

BP has been in Indonesia for almost 50 years and is one of the largest foreign investors in the country. Every BP’s main business stream is represented here – upstream, where activities include exploration and production in Tangguh LNG and the VICO Joint Venture; downstream with Castrol, and petrochemicals with BP Petrochemicals Indonesia; and supply and trading with PT Jasatama Petroindo.

Tangguh LNG is BP’s main business in Indonesia. Located in Teluk Bintuni, Papua Barat, it is the first fully integrated LNG operations, and also one of the largest LNG facilities in the country. It involves the development of six gas fields in the Wiriagar, Berau and Muturi Production Sharing Contracts (PSC). Tangguh is operated by BP Berau Ltd. (100% owned by BP) with two other wholly-owned BP subsidiaries, BP Muturi Holdings B.V. and BP Wiriagar Ltd.
